DVR Trigger wires

Connector Type

  • V2.0 = Version 2.0 — a manufacturer-specific version, usually referring to pin layout revision or cable type update.
  • The connector plugs into the Alarm I/O port on the back of a DVR or NVR.

  • Purpose

The DB26 cable breaks out into multiple wires for connecting:

Alarm Inputs – For sensors, PIR detectors, door contacts, panic buttons, etc.

Alarm Outputs – For triggering sirens, lights, relays, etc.

RS485 Communication Lines – Dash camera control (in some models).

    Ground/Common Lines

Plug the DB26 connector into the Alarm I/O port on the DVR.

Connect the breakout wires:

Sensors → Alarm Inputs (IN1–IN8)

Siren or Relay → Alarm Outputs (OUT1/OUT2)

PTZ control wires → RS485+/–

Configure triggers in the DVR software (Alarm settings → Input/Output → Linkage Action).

The DB26-V2.0 cable usually looks like:

One DB26 plug on one end (metal or plastic shell)

A bunch of color-coded wires (labeled IN1, IN2, OUT1, GND, etc.) on the other end

Often included with professional-grade DVRs/NVRs
